Environmental Sciences Major
Earth & Planetary Sciences Major

My name is Abby (they/them) and I'm a fourth-year double majoring in Earth & Planetary Sciences and Environmental Sciences. I'm writing a senior thesis on microbial aerobic ammonia oxidation in Mammoth Cave and its contribution to the subsurface nitrogen cycle. After graduation I plan to pursue a PhD in the biogeosciences. I am interested in environmental sciences because of the importance of preserving the earth and the environments we study particularly as the climate change crisis worsens.

Focus

  • Microbial Ecology
  • Subsurface Ecosystems and Biogeochemical Cycling
  • Climate Change and Sustainability
